For many years, I had looked forward to retiring early. At the age of 56, I have! It has only been possible to some good fortune and shrewdness on my part, but without the knowledge and skill of Simon Blaber, none of this could have come together. My wife and I have been clients of Simon since 2002. We originally contacted him because we needed guidance and sound financial advice about planning for retirement. We have dealt with Simon Blaber since 2002, during which time they/he have provided us with excellent support and advice with our investment portfolio. When we first met Simon we were in considerable trouble with our financial advisor and losing circa £500 per month, his honesty at this point assisted us in obtaining redress. Simon reorganised our investments to take the best possible advantages of ISA’s and released us from the “with profits” trap. We first met Simon at a seminar organised by RJ Temple PLC on 5th November 2001. Following this seminar, being duly impressed by Simon, an Independent Financial Planning Adviser, he visited our home to give us independent advice on our finances. We do not consider ourselves in the upper income bracket but as Stella had retired in 1998 and Ray was about to, we felt we needed to “put our house in order”. We very soon felt confident that Simon had the necessary experience and ability to help us do just that. He helped us sort out the large amount of paper work from various companies and banks where we had put small amounts of savings attempting to be efficient! How wrong we were. Simon soon gave us advice we needed to get us on track. He explained very clearly how we could best move forward, and was happy to clarify any queries we had making sure he acted in our best interest. Following this meeting, Simon wrote a detailed report explaining everything we had agreed upon and the action would be taken. Simon has continued since that time to update us, informing us on how the companies invested in had performed or otherwise on a six monthly basis, and taking whatever action was necessary. In 2002 Simon formed his company as we now know Stratton Annette’s Ltd and his staff working for him. We have certainly benefited from having Simon as our financial adviser and would not hesitate to recommend him.
